Alex Brill, a former Dover High School football player, has tragically passed away in a car accident. His family announced his demise on Saturday, November 23rd, 2024. He was 18.
Brill’s Uncle, Samuel Pena announced the news in a Facebook post; “Family and friends. My Sister Monica Linda Pena notified me this morning that my Nephew Alex Brill (age 18) lost his life during a tragic car accident,” Pena said. “My family in New York needs the power of prayer during this difficulty time. We will sorely miss Alex ❤️. Rest in peace Alex. Lord hear our prayers – Amen.”
Brill was a standout tight end cum defensive end for the Dover Football program, the Dover Dragons. #33 showed out from his sophomore year, establishing himself as a key piece for the team. He graduated in the class of 2024′.
A fundraiser has been organized to help the Brill family navigate this difficult time. Sean Barclay of Dogtail Corners NY, a former classmate of Alex’s, organized the GoFundMe with the message: “Its incredibly unfortunate that this happened but our dear friend Alex brill passed away last night and we’re trying to raise money for his family expenses, anything will help we all love and miss him…”
The Alex Brill GoFundMe at the time of publishing this piece had raised a significant $18,000 out of its $20,000 goal.
