JC Ragsdale, son of the long-time American country and rock band Cross Canadian Ragweed drummer, Randy Ragsdale, has tragically died.
Randy announced JCs’s death in a painful social media post, announcing the sad reality but taking solace in his future destination. No cause of death was announced but JC battled numerous health challenges throughout his life.
“It is with great sadness we share our beloved JC is now in the arms of Jesus. He is pain-free running through heaven,” Randy said. “We appreciate your thoughts & prayers and ask you respect of the family’s privacy at this time,”
Cross Canadian Ragweed also shared news of JC’s tragic death, writing: “JC was his daddy’s (and Ragweed’s) biggest fan. We will miss you forever sweet boy,”
JC Ragsdale was indeed said to be the band’s biggest fan and constantly listened to their music. Cross Canadian Ragweed went on hiatus in 2010 to allow Randy more time for his family, particularly to aid in the care of JC, who had autism.
“Right now, I need to be at home for my family, particularly my son JC, who has autism. He’s 10 years old now and still struggling in his development. I feel the only way I can help him is to be more hands-on and close to home,” he said at the time. Other band members supported him and refused to get a new drummer to continue touring.
The band reunited in 2024 for a few shows at which JC finally saw his legendary dad in action. The Ragsdale family has been inundated with prayers and messages of support following the tragic news.
