Aviation Meteorologist and licensed pilot based in Sasebo, Japan Jesse Olsen, full name Jesse Arguinzoni Olsen passed away on October 27, 2024, with her family starting a GoFundMe a few weeks later.
The fundraiser, organized by Janiece Dominique Arguinzoni did not disclose the cause of death of the Monroe Park resident. The GoFundMe solicits donations to help towards ” funeral expenses, travel expenses to bring her fur baby, Thor NuggetBucket, home, and as well as costs associated with having her personal belongings shipped from Japan to New York,”
It described Jesse, 37, as “funny, outgoing, and one of a kind,”
The fundraiser met its $5,000 goal and on November 20th, it was announced that Jesse had been brought home for her funeral and memorial. The family said it was still working to bring her dog Thor back. The funeral is scheduled to be held on November 25, 2024, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers in Monroe.
Jesse Olsen lived and worked in Japan as an Aviation Meteorologist & Pilot. She graduated from the State University of New York (SUNY) Oswego with a BS in Meteorology in 2010 before obtaining a Master of Science in Space Studies/Aerospace Science from the American Military University in 2022. Olsen was born on May 15, 1987 in the Bronx and was a massive Yankees fan, according to her obituary.
