Renowned British actor, Bernard Hill, famous for his memorable performances in “Titanic” and “Lord of the Rings,” has sadly passed away at 79.

Bernard Hill’s agent, Lou Coulson, has confirmed his passing, stating that he died Sunday morning in the company of his fiancée, Alison, and his son, Gabriel.

Hill gained prominence following his role in the 1982 BBC TV drama “Boys from the Blackstuff.”

He became internationally known for his performances as Captain Edward Smith in the 1997 Oscar-winning film “Titanic” and as King Théoden in “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy.
